Top Jamaican media personality and dj Arif ‘Supa Coop’ Cooper has died.

Cooper succumbed at hospital on Sunday.

He was rushed to the corporate area medical facility after he collapsed while playing at a party at the Ranny Williams Entertainment complex in St Andrew.

Cooper is the son of founding Third World member and educator Ibo Cooper.

His passing has sent shockwaves throughout the industry.

 

Several persons have took to social media to express sadness and their condolences on his passing.

Cooper came to prominence in the early 1990’s and worked as a broadcaster at RJR Gleaner Group’s FAME FM for more than 25 years.

 

He was also a music producer and event promoter.

Cooper is also known for creating the Guardian Angel rhythm featuring TOK and Tami Chynn.

He has also produced and written for ace deejays Sean Paul and Beenie Man.
